About Author Ian Lamont
Ian Lamont is an award-winning author and the publisher of IN 30 MINUTES guides. In 2016, he created EASYGENIE genealogy charts to help genealogists and family historians organize, preserve, and share their research. The company not only sells high-quality paper charts printed in the United States on acid-free paper, but also publishes a line of genealogy PDFs that customers can type into and print out at home.
Since 2020, Lamont has shared his love of family history in a weekly genealogy newsletter and blog. The chapters in Genealogy In 30 Minutes were originally published in the newsletter.
His other books include Google Drive & Docs In 30 Minutes and Lean Media: How to focus creativity, streamline production, and create media that audiences love.
He is a graduate of Boston University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also received a master’s degree in history from the Harvard Extension School.
He and his wife Nicole operate IN 30 MINUTES guides and EASYGENIE charts as a family business. The company is based in the Boston area.
